Here are some links which are interesting and of interest to me.  I'll be adding more as my Manager has time and approves my recommendations.....she always worries about my safety on the Internet, just like all good Mom's.

We live in a rural, agricultural area of Dallas.  Mom and Dad and Granddad often find dogs and cats abandoned by their caretakers.  The whole family really gets angry as these pet family members often are attacked by other abandoned or local pets, and even wild animals,  allowed to roam freely or are found injured, starving and sick.  Many times people think they are doing the animals a favor by releasing them in a neighborhood, but they are just being cowards and irresponsible.  There are many rescue organizations to give your pet to, not counting the local animal shelter.  I really feel sorry for these animals when they are abandoned by their human families, especially on days when the weather is hot or cold, no food, water or shelter to get in when it storms.  It is sad to see them waiting on the side of the road for their masters to return to retrieve them.....and no one comes.

Please, help spread the word there is help other there, don't discard your pet just because they have grown too big, no longer are convenient, or have outgrown their baby cuteness, or you have to move and can't take them, or even that you can no longer afford to keep them.  Call your local animal rescue shelter, and be a supporter financially.
